The researchers, who are working at the newly forme Institute for DrugSafety Sciences, will use a virtual modelk of a liver to test how differenf drugs may affect the organ. The researchg has the potential to speedr up the drug development andtesting process. The Institutw for Drug Safety which opened last week and featurea 14,000-square-foot research will work to study global drug safetyh issues. It is being led by Paul the Verne S. Caviness distinguished professor of medicineat UNC.
