Switzer Building, 330 C St. SW. which oversaw the same project’x first phase of construction last year, will now be updatinfg 311,000 square feet and adding another 18,009 square feet to the Southwest D.C. building. Employees will remain in the building throughthe Grunley’s work, funded by federal stimulus dollars, includesw removing the existing interior construction and installingg new HVAC, electrical, fire and life safety and energy-efficienr lighting systems.
It will make the newlhy renovated elevators go to the sixth and seventh both of which the company will convert from mechanical tooffice spaces. In addition, Grunley will replace windowss andthe roof, includinhg adding new green roof features. The designed by and aiming for the Silver leveo ofthe ’s Leadership in Energg and Environmental Design green building standards, is expected to be complet e in July 2011.
