The move is aimed at savinf $6.1 million and is in additio to $38 million in cuts the universityu hasalready imposed. The cuts are a result of less moneyt coming fromthe state. If approved by the the cuts will impactabout 1,100 students.
Those close to graduation will receive assistance from the university to take the courseas needed to complete their If the board approves thejob cuts, the faculty and stafc would have two semesters notice before losinvg their job and some would remainm employed through the spring 2011 semestere to allow students to complete their Students will also witness a 15 percent increasde in tuition beginning with the fall 2009 semester. “I wish the severith of the budget cuts did not forcer us to considerthese actions, but they are in the best interestas of the entire university. This is a very bitteer pill for the UCF communityto swallow,” said UCF presideng John C.
