Reed, a state senator, raised more than $500,000 during April, May and June, his campaigjn announced Tuesday. “I am deeplyu humbled by the outpouring of support our campaignjhas received,” he said in a preparef statement. “Every dollar contributed is not only an investment inmy candidacy, but an investmenr in Atlanta’s future.” Atlanta City Counci President Lisa Borders finished second in fund-raising for the quarter, bringing in more than Norwood, a two-term at-large raised about $313,000 during April, May and June, her campaighn announced Tuesday.
But Norwood has raised the most money sincew the 2009campaign began, a little more than $1 to about $965,000 for Reed. “I’j very gratified to see that friends and neighborsz all over our city wanted to show their suppor t inthis way,” Norwood said in a preparec statement. “It signals that this is indeed a campaign for all Atlantanx who want their city to work for them Borders dropped out of the mayoral racelast August, citiny health concerns facing her aging then re-entered the contest in April.
